Frequently asked questions

What people usually want to know before booking a session or starting a course. Open a question to read the answer.

How do I book a session?

Choose the service you want, then either pick a counsellor yourself or answer a few short questions and let us suggest one. Pick a time that suits you, give your details, and pay. Your booking is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through, and we email you the details.

Do I need an account to book?

No. You can give your details at the review step and pay without registering first — we create your account as part of that, so your booking is waiting for you when you sign in. You do need an account to take a course.

Are sessions online or in person?

Both, depending on the service. In-person sessions are held at 57, Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Ilorin. Online sessions are held over video, and we send the link before your session.

What time zone are session times shown in?

West Africa Time, which is the time this practice keeps. If you are booking from another country, the time you see is the time in Nigeria.

Can I change or cancel my session?

Yes. You can move or cancel it yourself from your dashboard up to 24 hours before it starts. Inside 24 hours the site will not let you, because your counsellor's time is set aside — contact us and we will help where we can. Our refund policy explains what happens to your payment.

How do I pay, and is it safe?

Payment is taken by Flutterwave on their own secure page, in Nigerian Naira. You can pay by card, bank transfer or USSD. Your card details go to Flutterwave, never to us — we never see or store your card number, CVV or PIN.

How long do I have access to a course?

Once you are enrolled, the course appears in your dashboard with its video lessons and written class notes. Some courses have an access period, which is shown before you buy and on the course itself; where one applies, we warn you as the end approaches.

Can I give a course to someone else?

Yes. Choose "Give as a gift" on any course, tell us who it is for and add a message. We email them a one-time link to claim it. They have 90 days to claim it, and they will need an account of their own to take the course.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. What you tell your counsellor is not discussed outside the practice, apart from the ordinary limits — where there is a serious risk to someone's life, where a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk, or where the law requires it. Our counselling disclaimer sets this out in full.

Do I have to share your faith to come here?

No. Our counsellors work in a way that is sensitive to faith, and you are welcome whatever you believe. You will not be drawn into a conversation about belief you did not ask for.

Can you help in an emergency?

No. This is not an emergency or crisis service, and messages sent here may not be read until the next working day. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, go to your nearest hospital emergency department or call 112.

I did not get my email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first, and add info@wessemblycounsellors.com to your contacts. If it is a verification link you are waiting for, you can ask for a new one from the sign-in page. If it still does not arrive, contact us.
